Oh Christmas Tree

Hey everyone. Got a layout for you based on three different challenges. At Scrap the Boys, the challenge was to use a picture of a multi-colored Christmas tree as inspiration. At The Studio Challenges, you were to use things that sparkled and shined. I also used the December 15th sketch at Stuck?!Sketches. From the picture I decided to go with a Christmas theme and to use a tree as a focal point on my page, which fit in perfectly with the sketch. For the sparkle and shine, I used tinsel color shine and strips of pattern paper that had a bit of glitter on it. I used an older collection from My Mind's Eye called 'Joyous'. I had several rolls of washi tape belonging to this line, so I decided to create a tree with them. It turned out quite well I think. I fussy cut the Santa and bluish snowflakes, as well as the small strips of paper with a glittery border. The photo is of my grandson getting his first look at a Christmas tree. Pretty sweet!! Below are some close ups and the assorted challenges. Thanks for stopping by.

A : acrylic paint (splatters)
C : circle punch
E : enamel dots, ephemera, element stickers

be happy

Hey everyone. I'm back with this month's sketch/word challenge at Scrap Our Stash. I'm absolutely loving the word part of these challenges as it makes me use up parts of my stash that I have forgotten about. I used Kaiser Craft's beautiful 'Wildflower' line for this layout. The flair button was from Cuts2Luv. The photo is of my niece. Our little Mouse is growing up way too fast!!! I used the following for the word part of the challenge:

T : thread
H : half pearls
A : amethyst coloured cardstock
N : Nestabilities ( hexagons )
K : Kaiser Craft
S : Seedless Preserves distress ink

Dad & Me

Hey everyone. Got a layout for you based on Cuts2Luv's and Scrap the Boys' November challenges. Scrap the Boys is a new challenge site for me. I haven't scrapped alot of masculine layouts in the past, but now that I have an adorable little grandson, that's going to change!! Lots of texture on this page with corrugated cardboard, staples, wood veneer stars, stitching, puffy stickers and filmstrips. For the Cuts2Luv challenge I followed the sketch and used the pattern stripes. The Scrap the Boys challenge was to follow a moodboard of green, black, orange and kraft. The first thing I thought of when I saw the moodboard, was the 'Good Fellows' collection of Fancy Pants which fit perfectly. Below are some close ups and the challenges. Thanks for stopping by.

Grateful, Thankful, Blessed

Hey everyone. Here's my take on Scrap Our Stash's November tic tac toe challenge. The photos are of my daughter and grandson, at our place on a beautiful fall day. Simple Stories' 'Vintage Blessings' line matched the photos perfectly. For the challenge I used the following: Echo Park, fall theme, the color brown (the paper matting the photos was from Echo Park). Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Everyday Moments

Hey everyone. I bought my first Hip Kit Club kit. WOW!!! Lots of goodies in these kits. This was the September kit, which was full of Paige Evans' 'Turn the Page' collection from Pink Paislee.  I used Vicki Boutin's art crayons to create the background, along with some distress ink spray and color shine. I decided to play along with the weekly sketch on the Hip Kit Club Facebook member forum. This layout was based on the October 6-12th sketch. Thanks for stopping by.

Cutest Little Pumpkin

Hey everyone. I have a layout to share based on challenges at Cuts2Luv and The Studio Challenges. At Cuts2Luv, the 2 parts of the October mood board that I used were pattern:wood and embellishment:leaves. I used one of their gold leaf flair buttons as well.  At The Studio Challenges, there was a fall color pallette to draw inspiration from. I used Echo Park Paper's 'A Perfect Autumn' collection for this page of my cutest little pumpkin. The leaves were cut using dies from Prima. Below are some close ups and the challenges. Thanks for stopping by.
